Re: WFTW Trackchair Project - 2nd Chair Delivered!
Do we know what the plans are for the event? I think the hope was that this year‘s event would get rescheduled but it’s probably safe to assume that it’s canceled. Are we optimistic that main event will happen in 2021? I would certainly try to attend

Nothing has been decided yet.
Which part of libertarianism bothers you? The part where you have to make decisions about your own life? Or the part where you don’t get to make decisions for mine?

Update:
We are now at $2,547
That's about a quarter of the way to the next chair.

Way to go, Idaho! Guys and gals, this labor of love of ours is a big deal. Let's continue to support those who truly need a trackchair.

We really need to step up. With main event 4 months away, I figure we need to have the total buttoned up up end of March. I will have more WFTW stuff to list next month

It's been a while since we've had an update. Big shout out to Goldilocks who bought the Jeep bar in the KSAs. He paid considerable more than the final bid!
The total right now is $3,637! We're well on our way to the third trackchair.

Re: WFTW Trackchair Project - 2nd Chair Delivered!
Another quick update. I talked to Melanie at Carlson Mobility. She has two candidates who are working to get a chair. One of them is very deserving and has been trying for a long time. They have a few refurbished chairs right now that would cost between $9-10k to get outfitted for either of these candidates. We're past half-way there. I asked her to check if there were any other groups that could help out with a few bucks. She is checking on this.
If anyone here is willing to help, please put something in the KSAs next week. Most of us have some odd or end piece that could help raise a few bucks. Every little bit helps. I'll be listing another WFTW Jeep bar that will ship directly from YPS.
Let's do this!

Terry B, our last recipient of a trackchair posted this on facebook a few days ago.

Sorry I have not been posting like I need to. My track chair was used in this clean up event. Was also used Thursday on a quail, Chukar, and pheasant hunt. I still to this day can not come up with the words to say Thank You to everyone involved in getting me back out and living life again!

It is great to learn that we are making a difference in the lives of people.
With Christmas approaching, I hope y'all will remember the ongoing effort to get another chair.

I just updated the sidebar with the current total: $6,508.55
We're 2/3 of the way to the next chair!
I also want to mention that Terry B, the last recipient, takes his chair to events and lets other soldiers use it. How cool is that?

Re: WFTW Trackchair Project - UPDATE!
Howdy folks,
It's been a year since I last posted here. With inflation and high premiums on metals there haven't been many donations toward this project. It seems a shame to let the funds we've raised sit idle.
There isn't as much need for trackchairs these days. There aren't many wounded soldiers coming back from war now. Our wounded soldiers have different needs these days. Last week I spoke with Stacie, the current president of the WFTW. Two years ago Stacie started a new project to place service dogs with wounded soldiers. So far they have placed two dogs and are currently training a third. They have a waiting list for five more.
I discussed this with our top donors and everyone who responded agreed that we should shift gears and apply the funds already raised toward the WFTW service animal project, along with all future donations. We currently have around $6,500 on account with the WFTW.
The cost to acquire and train a service dog is up to $30k. They’ve been able to reduce some of these costs by getting one animal donated and some of the training also donated but there are other costs including inoculations, certifications and vet bills.
I encourage all bullionstackers to send a small donation, or list an item in the KSAs with the proceeds going to this project. You can still use the WFTW paypal link in the left-hand sidebar. It still says "Trackchair" at paypal but they're working to get that updated.
Many thanks for all of your support over the years and continuing into the future!

This is from Stacie, the current WFTW President.

Did somebody say doggies?!?

Yeah, the trackchairs were definitely cool, but so is this.
Anyway, would it make more sense to start a separate new thread for the K9 stuff?
P.S. Randy, I see you got my PM. Make it happen, buddy!

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
