They will be sold on the site. I'll be listing the proto's throughout the day.

Monkeys are live on the YPS website.

Not yet. This afternoon. I will have all the prototypes listed as well. I'm shooting for around 2 pm est. There currently is a 2 pp limit per finish on the monkeys. Don't want to get too far behind on making molds. I ran the CNC all day yesterday and got 18 done.

Computer Numerical Control. It's slang for the mill that cuts the molds.

Maybe I'm just still half-asleep, but could somebody explain the bolded to me...? :?

The 20g Monkeys are mold breakers. They are very time consuming to make, so they have a higher premium than our other bars. We have to make a new mold for each individual bar, since it is broken each time. The silver is also melted twice for each bar.

It's like triple-filtered vodka, only different.

hehe, I saw SA online and thought he was going to answer this.

The silver is first melted in a crucible and then poured into the mold. But a small mold with small detail doesn't fill out. 20g of silver isn't heavy enough. So next it's baked and remelted in a kiln at 2000 degrees until the silver fills out. The anchors are the same way. I think sometimes he needs to jiggle the mold to get it to fill out completely.

Not sure if anybody saw these (on eBay -- not mine), but a few examples of what shiny YPS can end up looking like with what appears to be natural toning.

Definitely adds some nice color & dimension. Will be cool to see some others in 5, 10, 20+ years...
