I don't work for a living come winter but I get 8+ then too. I can not justify being inside when what I love is on the other side of the wall.

Hard for me to say as my activities are not so regular. I was at the Boy Scout meeting tonight and realized I did not do a summer camp this year for the first time in 10 years or so; kinda sad; smiling at all the boys I had taken to camp over the years (some since first year Tiger Cub now reaching Eagle). Talked to other leaders about riding horses next summer so we shall see. I am not sure which option to pick.

Of course, it all depends on how one defines "outside."

I would define outside as not being inside a building.

Does looking out the basement window count?

It's looking like it should.
With just the ones that have voted I'm starting to understand something.

Can I count the time I spent inside a bar this weekend, but all of the windows and doors were open?

I suppose it would count. It would make a neat poll to see how much time the average stacker spends in a pub.

At work all I get is the usual break times and those are not necessarily outside.

At play, I will spend all day outside if it's the weekend and there is a body of water I can get at or a BBQ going on, but after work I don't get outside as much unless I'm firing up the grill or having a drink on the deck.

Pushing 110 heat index here today and I hate hot weather. It's easy to put on gloves and coats in the winter but even running around naked outside, it's still HOT!

I spent several hours at the son's house Saturday putting an AC and shelves up in his tool shed. AC worked like a charm, lowing the temp from 120 to perhaps 95.

Oddly back in the day there was more rain, less asphalt/concrete, houses were built different to capture cool air, etc. Quite tolerable ago. Even now out in rural parts with a shade tree and water, not too bad but you are not doing much midday and later until evening. I suspect this is the origin of the siesta tradition--work early and late but lay up in the afternoon.

Thank you for that. While in Australia working[on a farm] back in '75 it was hot and they did that too. I went up to Queensland for a short holiday and a lot of the rural houses were built on stilts. Being 18 and even stupider than today, I stopped at one place to ask if they had floods often. Good people live there as they fed me after     until they  .

I work in the construction/commercial roofing business, so all my work time is outside. With the 110+ heat index, I'm trying to find which bad life choices ended me up here  Weekends I'm on the beach or in the Gulf of Mexico pulling fish from their homes. Pretty much most of my time is outside.

sounds to me like you got the best of all worlds. If I met you I wouldn't think you are ill do to being pale. I can't imagine living in a controlled environment as I'd never know the good days from the bad.
