Politically correct did not exist. Bullying was part of growing up. There were winners and losers and trophies were not given to everyone. Homeless was not the norm and begging on the streets was not seen, back then they were called beggars or bums. If you lived at home after the age of 18 there was something wrong with you. If a job paid minimum wage you still took it and worked your way up or moved on to another job. You did not run to a welfare agency to get food stamps or now I guess it is an ebt card. Red Skelton / Carol Burnnet was humor. Gas was .29 a gal when I started driving.
I am sure many will not understand but at least I was able to live those days![/quote]

I understand, and remember these times, even though they were early ones for me. I remember feeling guilty being at moms house when I was 19 (I moved out shortly thereafter). Bums were a rarity, even in SoCal back then, and having to resort to welfare was quite a shame, but so was "living in sin", which one of my sisters was.

Silver coins in change was still pretty common and getting a large size note was not unheard of.
My LCS sold some pretty nice Indain head nickels out of a gumball machine for a dime.
The good 'ol days...
