Do you have to be buzzed in to your coin/bullion shop.

Postby henrysmedford » Sun Mar 10, 2013

We have been going to coin shops when we are out of town and have found that alot of them you have to be buzzed in. Is this common were you go for your coins and bullion?

PS I have the same poll going on at Realcent.org. I will post the out come of that one here.

I should add at our local coin shop you do not need to be bussed in but it looks like a gun store. The clerks have open carry and you see guns on all the desks.

There are three LCS's within 20 min of me. Two require you to be buzzed and the third is a side room of a jewelry store so no buzzing, but the employee has a panic button on her at all times.

Now I know what you're thinkin'. Did he fire five shots or was it six?

No buzzing in or out for 2 shops here. One shop has even given me the backdoor access ;)

There is however one jewelry shop here which has that system. I never go there though anymore.
I accept Postal Money Orders, Personal Checks, Chase P2P and Dwolla. Shipping prices does not include insurance. If you want insurance/registered mail, it's always extra.

I never really thought about this, but yes I usually have to be buzzed in/out of my LCS. The owner also open carries, not sure if that's the norm especially in California.

I read this as "Do you have to be buzzed in your coin/bullion shop." I thought, "this must be a west coast survey". :D

Neither of the plaes I go to have to be buzzed in. One is an old bank (circa late 1800's) and the other one looks like a fortress on the outside. Bullet proof windows and doors in the front. No windows on any of the other sides except for the slit like windows you see for archers in castles. They have a button that locks the front door so it cant be opened and the inside doors are bulletproof as well... I imagine they may be blast proof as with as big as they are. They have the building to be super max and the metal to warrant the protection but the employees are often lax and I am surprised they havent been robbed to date.
I accept payment through Dwolla, PPG, check or money order. Accommodation available for international orders as well.

I don't have to be buzzed in to my LCS, but I do have to be buzzed in to the jewelry shop where I buy my wife her precious metals..

1 out of 3 that I frequent makes you buzz, and that one also has a big dog.
