+1. I'm too afraid of getting scammed to buy anything sealed in plastic that's not from a reputable source. Even if the packaging looks alright, I'd still crack it open and test them.

Hope you got his license plate.

The guy I purchased them from actually lives three blocks down on the same street I do. I compared them to the pamp bars ive bought from members on here and they weight exactly the same. Do you think its still necessary to crack one open and do an acid test?

If the packaging looks and feels identical, including the design on the card (look closely), and the finish on the bar looks the same, then you are probably okay, but it's always possible there's better fakes out there than we've seen before.

They do look and feel identical to my other pamp bars , have looked at them closely using 50x magnification and all my 2.5g bars weigh the same. Im pretty confident they are legit.

Is it possible to use a PM Verifier without opening the assays?

I do believe the PMV will read through the plastic.

More goodness today from APMEX. What's scary is it was just sitting in my mailbox today. Signature conf. needed, but just left anyway even though I was home.

Still for 8 bucks over spot and free shipping it was a heck of a deal.

Sweet! If you don't mind me asking, did you use a cast or machined mold?

It was poured into a graphite mold. I originally bought the mold for 1oz silver totems but the metal sticks and they're a pain to remove so we never made more than a few.

That is a nice totem/token! Do you provide custom minting services or something?

Every year I seem to find something of value at the local coin show, this year I stumbled upon an old school vintage Degussa pour gold bar.

Exactly like this one that sold for well above what I paid

Boo Ya! Taking offers in USD! ;)

Also, got a 100 oz silver brick for 2k even CAD which is a tad under spot..

Did you measure the weight afterward the melt and pour? Was it still accurate at 2 ozt? Just curious.

Yes. Unlike silver, there's no angel's share with gold.

Purchased a broken dainty 14K necklace today at an estate sale for $1.

My math indicates that the price paid works out to $80 per ounce. Now I just need to do this a hundred thousand more times and I will be set for retirement.

Why even retire when you are working with those numbers? You could have a house made of gold in no time.

Not a huge thing to brag about but I did stumble upon a pretty rare 1/15 GML today which had a price tag on it for $200 cad.. Searched the ebay completed sales and seen these usually go for around $300 cad, so while I said I would take it, she rang it in for 135 cad...

Extra bonus!

anyway,, brag off

Have great weekend!
