Plant is moving along nicely. You can see the shade structure that I have put up to mitigate sunburn. We have been hot and dry here for 4-5days. Getting a little leaf burn on vine ends. Each evening I have been giving the plant a 1/4 stength TKO drench of 25-40 gal. I'll step that down to 1/8th in about 3 more days. We need some rain......still yet the punkin is starting to fatten up. :)

Well it has been two days. Can you see any growth?

I have a ton of work waiting on me in the patch. I'll deal with that tomorrow. I am on Vacation. 8-)

Got to finally meet BS member gramcracker (John) today. Dude is cool as a cucumber. My Dad was over for a regular checkup so....... dad, myself, and John hung out and talked coins, bullion, crypto, and of course pumpkins. Actually John is a solid gardener. He brought me a garlic bulb that would make Christopher Ranch blush (google if need be). Dad asked him about his garden across the road " how do you keep the deer out of it"? John without hesitation said, "eight foot fence" with a big smile on his face. I had a pretty good laugh at that. Little does John know that I'm training a group of dear to high jump 10ft. Gonna drop them off next to his place on my way down to the pumpkin weigh off. Nice to finally put a face to the Merc avatar. He needs to interact more....sharp cat.... to reserved.

and I got to meet Chris and his Dad. A 2fer, so I got the better end of the deal. Honestly, it was delightful and the highlight of my day. I will confess it took a minute to adjust to the deafening screams of patients but then Chris swaggered out with 2 enormous hypodermic needles safely holstered and I felt more at ease. I'll be keeping a sharp eye out for your trained deer on pogo sticks. Thanks for the hospitality.

We have darn near outgrown the original mat. Another section was added today. Shortly after this picture a section of road cloth and bag of sand was put down. The weather has continued to be hot and dry. The plant is getting 40-50gal a day now from the rain tote. It will run dry by Friday unless we get some serious rain. I have upgraded my rain collection system to be semiautomatic. I will get some pictures of it posted sooner or later for show and tell.

I've been very tempted to drive out to WV for dental work. It's hard to find a good dentist that I trust.
