dog question....

Postby mnymgr1 » Tue Apr 24, 2018

hey guys

I'm not a pet guy but find myself dog sitting for nearly 2 weeks
I'm also not a hard boiled yolk fan, love egg whites and believe it is a super food, nearly pure protein, no cholesterol.
In the past, all the boiled egg yolks got the heave ho which is a waste I know, but I just won't consume them.

So I just searched and found that dogs can indeed eat boiled eggs after they have cooled.
First question, do your dogs eat eggs in any form ?
Second question and really important, will egg yolks give the dog gas ?

Thanks for any input

First of all, the baby chicken is the best part! Fine for dogs---mine gets some egg every day--good for the coat. As for the gas, not sure, but I do blame her when I do it :)

Gas yes...
We had some colored hard boiled eggs sitting out after Easter, and my 15 pound rat terrier got up on the table and ate about a half dozen of them, shell and all.

About once or twice per week we will mix in some table scraps with the dog food. Primarily chicken or meat (no fat) and if its too seasoned might even scrape or rinse off a bit. A scrambled egg here and there....and man oh man....those farts are worse than pregnant women farts (no disrespected intended.)

he was treated to one egg yolk, we'll see what happens in the next 24 hrs.
he loved the yolk, that's for sure. I believe this dog has its own chair at the dinner table, has enough 'table scraps' to feed a small village of humans....lol
I got yelled at by my kids last night for feeding it a single grape, guess he hasn't reacted well to that in the past.
Don't worry, I yelled back that I wouldn't have fed the dog a grape if they both wouldn't have returned home with that part of their lunch uneaten...haha ! So any problems and it is their fault...lol
Really sweet delicious green grapes too.

My lab ate any table scraps I would give her and she loved eggs... meanwhile that night I regretted giving her eggs... she slept with me and her farts were so bad she would get up and leave the room!

Grape and raisin (dried grapes) toxicity is well documented in dogs.* Although the exact substance that causes the toxic reaction is not yet known, dogs should not eat grapes and raisins because even small amounts can prove to be fatally toxic for a dog. Dogs of any age, breed, or gender may be affected.

Higher protein foods tend to make them fart. Cat food fed to dogs does it also.

Dog Farts. Hilarious! What won't we write about or comment on? I've got to move out of this rented house restricted from pets, so I can get a dog and some real life experience. Love dogs.

"Here boy, have some eggs and cat food, eat 'em up. Yea ~good boy~. Who loves ya?".

quote="Bham"]....and man oh man....those farts are worse than pregnant women farts (no disrespected intended.) [/quote]

Pregnant women "kimchee" farts could run a respectable competition. At least from my house they could have.

Pugs are just a little hair and set of ears held together by farts.

Where do you find this stuff Rik? Thanks for posting. It won't stop me from posting what I do, but it's good to know.
