Apparently in Japan and Korea, they dont have denominations that start with 2.
Japan has the 1 5 10 50 100 500 1000 5000 and 10000 yen. (Think 100Y = $1*)
Korea has the 10 50 100 500 1000 5000 10000 50000 won. (Think 1000W = $1*)
Its an interesting idea, and appears like it might be better. I tested out every number and 2 head denoms dont seem to be worth the effort. For transactions 5 6 7 8 9 1, its better to just have 5 and 1, altho having all three is best, but that may be compromised with slot space. For 2 3 4, using 2 head notes is better.
Sadly, this means getting rid of my beloved $2 and the great Andrew Jackson, but it would be nice otherwise. Could always move him to something else.
Anyone know of any other countries like this? China has a 20 but no 2. It seems to be confined to East Asia.
* not exactly, but its close enough to help understand in its own context. A drink is going to cost 100Y even if that would mean 88c
