Case

Postby Blue Angel » Mon Sep 11, 2017

My grandfather always carried a Case Trapper knife. He wore out several whet rocks sharpening them. I inherited one of his when Pawpaw passed away. I also have one I carry every day, just like his. My uncle Dickie bought it for me a few years ago.

Both knives were in a dresser drawer with about 30 other various knives I have collected over the years. Hurricane Harvey flooded the house and the knives. I retrieved them and dropped them in a skillet of bacon grease. I didn't have any other oil available. They are very rusted.

I contacted W.R. Case company. They also make Zippo lighters, I found out. I told them what happened here and they told me to send them in. The technician will look them over, take them apart, and fix them up. I am very optimistic about my knives being reborn.

The Case Trapper holds an edge like no other knife I have ever owned.

Great you found them! Hope Case refurbishes them. If they do I'll go out and buy 1 just because!

I received my beloved Trapper knives today from W.R. Case. They were taken apart by the technician and given a good cleaning and re-oiled. The blades are carbon steel so, they show tarnish and wear. They hold and edge like no other knife I have ever owned.

I can't express just how important these knives are to me. One is over 40 years old. I am thankful for an American company that has a policy like Case. No charge to me and a thank you note thanking me for my business. I am a customer for life.

Congrats. I have inherited watches that I had restored that hold much meaning to me. Items that connect to family history are a treasure.

Better prices at Amazon but maybe they'd work with us on a group buy.
