A study by Verizon says that West Virginians watch more television than people in any other state in the country.

The report came out Wednesday and used data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It found that people in West Virginia averaged about four-and-a-half hours in front of the tube per day. The study also used Google Trends data to determine that the state’s TV genre of choice is soap operas.

Israeli moon lander reaches lunar orbit

A small Israeli spacecraft executed a critical rocket firing Thursday, easing out of a highly elliptical Earth orbit and into one around the moon. It sets the stage for an automated landing attempt April 11.

The spacecraft is the first privately funded, non-superpower lunar lander.

Japan spacecraft drops explosive on asteroid to make crater

Japan’s space agency said an explosive dropped Friday from its Hayabusa2 spacecraft successfully blasted the surface of an asteroid for the first time to form a crater and pave the way for the collection of underground samples for possible clues to the origin of the solar system.

Yeah... that's what they say.

Last year a Kenyan safari tour came upon an elephant carcass and three dead individuals and elephant tusks nearby. Game Park officers quickly investigated, found no evidence of foul play, and closed the case before they left.. with the tusks.

Detroit police officer shows up intoxicated to MSP breathalyzer training

A Detroit Police officer is at the center of an internal investigation after he showed up under the influence of alcohol to training in Lansing, Detroit Police Chief James Craig told reporters Friday.

Michigan State Police say it was discovered after the officer volunteered to be part of a demonstration on breathalyzer training.

The incident comes a week after another officer, who was still in her probationary period, was arrested for allegedly selling drugs.

^ I love garlic! My issue with raw garlic is the body odor it emits. I sweat a lot in the summer, myself and my clothes reek.
The same with Sulfur.
A few summers back an old timer told me if I would put a pinch of powdered Sulfur in my lip like snuff it would keep chiggars, ticks and mosquitoes away.
After a couple days ingesting it, my sweat odor became most terribly unbearable.
It stained my clothes and took weeks to get the smell completely out of my body.
I think I smelt it in my clothes the following summer.

PSA - don't let little kids near your iPad

A D.C.-based journalist has apparently been locked out of his iPad for more than 25 million minutes – or, nearly half a century – after his 3-year-old son tried to use it without the correct password, according to a screengrab shared on his Twitter page.

Florida man buys $8 million island then steals from Kmart

Police in Florida say a man who bought an $8 million island off Key West is accused in a scheme to steal $300 in household items from Kmart.

Key West police said 59-year-old Andrew Francis Lippi was arrested Saturday on a felony charge of grand theft. He was released from jail Sunday.

Police say Lippi bought items including a Keurig coffeemaker between March 30 and April 5.

He returned the original boxes with other items packed inside.

Lippi told the Herald the theft allegation is "complicated" and he'd rather not talk about it.

A private spacecraft from Israel will attempt a Moon landing Thursday

No private company has ever achieved what SpaceIL, a private group organized in Israel to win the now defunct Google Lunar XPrize, is attempting. At 3:05pm EDT Thursday (19:05 UTC), the Beresheet vehicle will begin the landing process that will set it down at Mare Serenitatis (the "Sea of Serenity"), about 30 degrees north of the lunar equator. The actual landing should come about 20 minutes later.
