Glowing space billboards could show ads in the night sky

A Russia-based startup has a plan to use constellations of tiny satellites to fill the sky with brightly lit ads from hundreds of miles up.

Think about it. You’re gazing dreamily out of the window at night, enjoying the beauty of a starry sky, only to find Cassiopeia obscured by a McDonald’s ad offering two-for-one Big Macs in a limited-time promotion.

Hundreds Attend Funeral for Vietnam War Veteran Who Died Alone

Thousands of strangers attended the Friday military funeral of a 77-year-old Vietnam War veteran from New Jersey who died alone and had no known relatives.

Mourners filled 200 vehicles in a procession leading from a church to a funeral service in North Hanover Township, New Jersey, to honor the life of Peter Turnpu, an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War.

Pope Francis Knew His Protégé Took Nude Selfies, Abused Seminarians; But Promoted Him to Top Vatican Post

The Vatican received information in 2015 and 2017 that an Argentine bishop close to Pope Francis had taken naked selfies, exhibited “obscene” behavior and had been accused of misconduct with seminarians, his former vicar general told The Associated Press, undermining Vatican claims that allegations of sexual abuse were only made a few months ago.

The pope’s decision to allow Zanchetta to resign quietly, and then promote him to the No. 2 position in one of the Vatican’s most sensitive offices, has raised questions again about whether Francis turned a blind eye to misconduct of his allies and dismissed allegations against them as ideological attacks.

Jan. 17 (UPI) -- An oversized snowman in Kentucky doled out some "instant karma" to a would-be vandal who discovered the hard way that its base was on a tree stump.

Pope Francis unveils new ‘Click to Pray’ app

Are you there, Pope Francis? It’s me …

The Holy Father launched an app called “Click to Pray” on Sunday that’ll allow the world’s 1.3 billion Roman Catholics to join him in prayer.

The pontiff has a profile on the Android and iOS app that shows Catholics around the globe what he’s currently praying for. Users can then click an icon to indicate that they’ve prayed with him.

Elon Musk's Cartoonish Spaceship Blown Over By A Gust Of Wind

Elon Musk's latest widely covered SpaceX venture - a spaceship that the company envisions could take 100 passengers at a time to and from the moon and Mars - a ship that is supposed to compete with Boeing, Lockheed Martin and NASA's Space Launch System... has run into a slight bit of technical difficulty. It was blown over by the wind.

Wouldnt there, in theory, be the same ratio of gold on the moon as on earth? I get that the moon has less mass so it should have a lower quantity of gold. But pound for pound could be similar?

Edit: I couldn't resist tying mining on the moon to stacking

^ earth stacker's gold demand would cease because we'd want the newer design, more rare, limited edition, higher priced moon gold.

Man says emotional support alligator helps his depression

A Pennsylvania man says his emotional support alligator helps him deal with his depression.

Joie Henney, 65, said his registered emotional support animal named Wally likes to snuggle and give hugs, despite being a 5-foot-long alligator. The York Haven man said he received approval from his doctor to use Wally as his emotional support animal after not wanting to go on medication for depression, he told Philly.com .

“I had Wally, and when I came home and was around him, it was all OK,” he said. “My doctor knew about Wally and figured it works, so why not?”

Wally was rescued from outside Orlando at 14 months old and is still growing; Henney said Wally could be 16 feet long one day. Henney says Wally eats chicken wings and shares an indoor plastic pond with a smaller rescue alligator named Scrappy.

Wally, who turns 4 this year, is a big teddy bear, in Henney’s words. The cold-blooded reptile likes to rest his snout on Henney’s, and “he likes to give hugs,” he said.

The alligator has never bitten anyone and is even afraid of cats, according to Henney.

I really, really hope they do an update to this story in the future...
Something about the family of a York Haven man suing a doctor after their son/brother was eaten by a 16 Foot alligator....
Outstanding!

95K Noncitizens Registered to Vote in Texas, Say State Officials

The Office of the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) has discovered troubling figures — roughly 95,000 individuals identified as non-U.S. citizens by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are registered to vote and, 58,000 of those, 61 percent, voted at least once, says Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
