I do enjoy wasting my time for my son though....haha

Yeah, my daughter has been texting me all day from Rome to complain about her mother, who took her to Rome. 1st world problem on steroids. :duck:

I can't think of the most appropriate thread to ask
:asold:
Is there any dental professionals members on bs?
Or anyone who is familiar with "laser surgery" for periodontal/gum disease?
I have some dental issues and "fired" my old dentist and picked a random new dental office and after an examination they recommended laser treatment (and a few other things). I'd like to get my issues fixed asap, but my insurance comes out to about 65 ASE's equivalent short. :o

Thanks

Iranian police arrest 'Sultan of Coins'

Iranian police have arrested a man they say hoarded two tonnes of gold coins in order to manipulate the local market.

Tehran police chief Gen Hossein Rahimi said the unnamed 58-year-old had used accomplices to collect an estimated 250,000 coins over the past 10 months.

He dubbed him the "Sultan of Coins".

Interesting idea. Certainly overwhelming hatred against immigrants in the comments of the article. I don’t think it would be the end of the world to let permanent residents vote (after all, they have permanent homes, pay taxes, contribute to communities, and are just as affected by the laws and the system they pay into just like citizens). I don’t think temporary residents and visa holders should be allowed to vote.

Maryland has quite a few places where non-citizens can vote in local elections.

At approximately 11:30 a dancer using the stage name Stormy Daniels, later identified as Stephanie Clifford made her way to the main stage and began performing. The majority of the patrons got up from their tables and stood immediately adjacent to the stage throwing dollar bills at Ms. Clifford. During her performance after removing her top exposing her breasts she began forcing the faces of patrons into her chest and using her bare breasts to smack the patrons. The officers observed Ms. Clifford fondling the breasts of female patrons....

...Ms. Clifford leaned over, grabbed Det. Keckley's head and began smacking her face with her bare breasts and holding her face between her breasts and against her chest. Ms. Clifford then made her way over to Det. Lancaster and performed the same acts on him forcing his face into her chest between her breasts and began smacking his face with her bare breasts."

Edit, news flash. Charges have been dropped

"By early afternoon, prosecutors said they were dropping the case because Ohio's law against physical contact between strippers and customers applies only to someone who "regularly" performs at a club. In Daniels' case, it was her first appearance at Sirens in Columbus."

The House late Thursday voted to ban the use of plastic drinking straws from its cafeterias, in an effort to raise awareness about the environmental damage straws can create when thrown away.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... mpaign=254

So in addition to companies like Starbucks and McDonald's working towards removing straws, we now have this...

WeWork, which the Motley Fool named as one of the top five most valuable startups, told employees this week that the company will ban employees from expensing meals that contain red meat, pork or poultry.

The company won't provide meat for events at its 400 locations, either — part of an effort to reduce its environmental footprint.

"New research indicates that avoiding meat is one of the biggest things an individual can do to reduce their personal environmental impact, even more than switching to a hybrid car," WeWork co-founder Miguel McKelvey said in an email to staffers.

The no-meat policy will also affect self-serve food kiosks at many of WeWork's 400 locations worldwide, according to Bloomberg. Employees wanting "medical or religious" exceptions can hash those out with a company policy team.

I wonder what a medical or religious exception would sound like.

Speaking of straws:

Starbucks’ Solution To Replace Plastic Straws Backfires Big-Time

the replacements Starbucks plans to use for the plastic straws, nitro lids, are comprised of more plastic than Starbucks’ current lid/straw combination.

How Much Gold Is In The FIFA World Cup Trophy?

The FIFA World Cup Trophy stands 36.8 cms tall with a base diameter of 12.5 cms. Overall it weighs 6175 grams (13.61 pounds) and has a gold content of 4927 grams (10.86 pounds) of 18 karat gold. The trophy is hollowed, since otherwise, being made of gold, it would be far too heavy to lift. The base of the trophy contains two layers of the dark green semi precious stone malachite.

Given that its 18 karat gold (meaning 18 parts gold to 6 parts of other metals, i.e. 75% gold), there are 3695.25 grams (118.8 troy ounces) of pure gold within the trophy. At a gold price of US$ 40 per gram at the time of writing, the gold within the World Cup Trophy has a current market value of approximately US$ 150,000.

Hiya All,

Recently, I discovered I could add a shake or two of cinnamon spice to my coffee grounds before perking (or whatever the cooking process is called now-a-days). Dare I say it really spices up my coffee? *groan*

Anyways, bonehead that I am, tonight I put in my cinnamon, but forgot my coffee :?

On the positive side, the cinnamon brew I concocted was rather agreeable looking. Sort of a weak tea redish/brown. Crystal clear.

Not wanting to re-run the "dirty" water through my coffee maker, I threw a couple of tea bags into the pot of cinnamon water. So now I experimenting with Cinnamon Tea.

For the record, I mistyped cinnamon 42 times in this incident report...

Cheers
Zz. :kitty:
