collar or no collar on today's Tuxedo shirts........

Postby mnymgr1 » Tue Oct 24, 2017

I tried on my tux for a new tv role last week, surprised it fit me.
The shirt on the other hand did not fit me.
Curious if any of you know, is the 'in' style today with or without a collar ??
They still make both kinds, I prefer to buy what's the current style today.

Also, ruffle front of shirt or plain white dress shirt style ?
Guessing ruffle for more formal events like NYE, maybe business style for gala's, charities ???

thanks for the input.

When I'm out back feeding the pigs on sunday, I like to wear a collar, but I'm old fashioned. .
Outstanding!

I didn't apply as I have no one to take care of my youngest kid in the morning.
Would have been fun and honestly nice to see people dressed up for the day.
Probably close to 200 extras, so chaotic but interesting.

There's another big 2 day shoot next week that I won't qualify for due to my age.
Now that one, that would be fun too, filming in an actual nightclub.
The description for the featured model roles in the VIP areas  Scantily clad is probably being nice.
Those shoots last from 6am until 10pm or later, then you have to show back up the following morning at 6am.
This not having anyone to watch the youngest is really unpleasant as I enjoy leaving the dungeon once in a while :|

this is absurd imho

Postby mnymgr1 » Wed Oct 25, 2017

I guess for people who tend to get ripped off when packages are dumped at their doorsteps, this might provide some protection....but really, letting amazon delivery people have access to your home so packages can be placed inside ??
Why not instead provide a lockbox outside the door where packages could be left safely ??

Amazon is just copying Wal-mart on this one, but Wal-mart wants to go further (into the fridge), as I posted here:

How knows? Maybe all the questions will be answered? I'm just interested to see what was so sensitive to necessitate being hidden for so long.

Maybe it will be another Geraldo's "Al Capone's Vault"?

friday night

Postby mnymgr1 » Thu Oct 26, 2017

so Friday night, I am running over to my favorite liquor store.
a young lady by the name of Jenny Mccarthy is signing bottles of her new liquer at $14.
all I'm thinking, didn't she get a boatload of money from Jim Carrey after they broke up ???
like, $50 million ??
why in the world is she signing bottles of booze at $14 a pop

if I sip enough of her libation in line, I might ask her

^^ a bigger question for me is "why is she doing that in your local neighborhood liquor store"? Sounds like she lost a bet.

jenny

Postby mnymgr1 » Thu Oct 26, 2017

jenny lives in a wealthier northwest suburb of chicago, about 35 minutes from here.
this liquor store is family owned, friends of mine, not small, not huge with 3 storefronts.
they had jake arrieta 2 years back before he crushed his ERA at the end of 2015, that was fun meeting him that day, almost no one showed up. I think there is a signup website for stuff like this for professional tv/sports stars, as well as liquor distributors leaning on the celebrities to make an effort when their names are on the bottles.

This article made me think that the date was April 1st:

Saudi Arabia bestows humanoid robot with citizenship

A humanoid named Sophia has made history by becoming the first robot in the world to be granted citizenship.
...
Sophia tried to dispell Sorkins' fears of a "bad future," insisting that AI is "designed around human values like wisdom, kindnes, compassion."

It accused him of "reading too much Elon Musk," and said, "don't worry, if you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Treat me as a smart input-output system."

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/s ... -1.3591719

I had no idea that robots had advanced this far.
