There's no auction or fundraising at The Main Event. It's all about giving back to our wounded heroes and their families. They are the focus. There will be entertainment, food and lots of 4-wheelin' in the Texas hills.

Activities take place under a giant tent that's as big as an auditorium. A stage is set up at one end and there's enough picnic tables in the shade to seat hundreds of people. And there will be hundreds of people there. 200-300 Jeeps and rigs. 8-)

Please come join us. You will laugh, you will cry, you will make new friends, you will be inspired, you will be enlightened and you will never ever forget it.

Bullionstacker is one of the top donors to the WFTW. Come see what you've helped accomplish. Any Bullionstacker members who attend will be treated as VIPs. We will take care of you. If you have interest at all please contact me or Blue Angel and we'll make it happen.

I should add that this is a very family-friendly event. Home Depot has a special area under the tent for kids. They bring wood building kits. The kids are occupied for hours making cars and boats and toys and having a great time. Home Depot does a great job with this.

It looks like I may be able to attend this event. Could you give me info on a hotel where rooms have been blocked.
Thanks

You don't need a hotel. Bring a tent and camp  .

The big event is this weekend! Hope to see a few of you out there.

We'll post updates and pics as we can.

Also, just realized I never left feedback for the folks who donated silver for the bar project. It's on my list now. After the event, I promise.

Pretty sure MaxGravy will be posting up some pictures soon of today's activities.

Woke up this morning to pouring rain and it stayed with us until midday. The US Coast Guard always has a big group of volunteers here and they showed up bright and early to set up tables and chairs to seat around 600. The BBQ folks showed up, set up, and began making sack lunches for all the participants for lunch on the trails. Then they started stoking the mesquite wood fires for the briskets to cook all night.

The trail guides will be Army Jeepers from Fort Hood again. We met with them to go over comms and contingencies. Loading the wounded in all the rigs is always a fluid activity and we met and talked about ways to make it work better.

Then, Splunky, MaxGravy, and I went up to the Copperhead Creek Gun Range here on the property. We went out to one of the tactical ranges and shot at some steel. Randy filmed and Brenda and I gave the Sig Sauer P320 9mm a work out. It was a lot of fun and Brenda is a great shooter.

Big day tomorrow coming up. When we left to head to town, there was a line of people going through check in and registration. Has been a steady stream of jeeps, buggies, trucks all day. Gates open at 7am. Drivers line up their rigs beginning at 8am. Drivers meeting then, the buses arrive with our soldiers and families around 11am.

Pics, video to come....

What a fun day! So cool to see everyone and be out there under the tent, even if it was pouring down rain.

I only took a few pics today, it was setup, but I'll get plenty tomorrow during the event. I did make a bunch of videos which need editing but I'll post up a few now.

I so very much look forward to this day every year. Our first event was five years ago and that's when we started making plans to move to Texas.

This is what it looked like most of the day. Thankfully tomorrow's forecast is 82 and sunny. :D

Awesome job on the videos Randy. That sound recorder is really cool. Adds to the whole video.

That sound is actually from my phone. I haven't yet learned to sink audio from the recorder to a video. But I will!

The P320 is a great gun to shoot. Looks like a lot of fun out there!
