Cool, and I won't hold it against them, you get on ledges, steps and wedges and it's really hairy the first time you experience it. All good in my book.

I hope the wounded soldiers have a great time tomorrow...what you guys do is something to be very proud of.

Sorry, no pix tonIght. I took over 400 today and finally got them processed, but it's late and I'm tuckered out. Suffice it to say that the event was a huge success and we made a lot of new friends. We're definitely coming back next year. I can't imagine not returning to Marble Fall for this event. Life is good.

I am still driving home.I did not take as many pictures as Maxgravy but when I get home I will post them up.

I have to say, this was the best event we have ever had.being able to meet so if you guys and the wheel with you was a real honor. I can not wait till next year. Those of you who have helped and contributed over this last year made this event happen. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You. Those two words do not express how I truly feel and I wish there was better way to say it. This event wsd just amazing.

Maxgravy, how is the wife's ankle?

Yes it was awesome! Getting to meet Randy and David and their beautiful wives was a real cool deal. I think everyone had a blast. David drove Stouttrouts big Jeep all day and Randy and I took turns with a soldier in my Cherokee. We wheeled Saturday with I think, 12 jeeps in our group and we took on some 3,4,5 rated trails. There was a double amputee warrior that wheeled with us in his own Jeep with hand controls. Amazingly, we had zero breakage or flats in 2 1/2 days of hard wheeling. We suffered some cosmetic scratches and stuff but no real equipment failures, which is rare. My little Cherokee impressed a lot of folks.....we went up over all the obstacles and barely spinned a tire.

The group of wounded from Fort Hood was first to arrive escorted by a group of Combat Vet mororcyclists. The escort guys jumped in some Jeeps and rode on the trails as well. There was a lot more wounded from San Antonio that had signed up but, the ball got dropped because the liason retired last Wednesday. Her replacement had no idea about the event so we only got 11 from SA. A total of 56 wounded with their extended families and all the veterans and families made a large group of warriors. We had close to 200 offroad vehicles and they were all filled with smiling faces.

This was our largest event ever and like Dan said......we could not have done it without the support of all you fine folks here at Bullionstacker. We were well represented at the event and I talked with many about precious metals and "real money". We sold well over $650 in prints and the silver BS bars made with donated silver was a huge hit. Not one single soldier wanted to seel one back....even at a price over 2x spot!

Just got home and will decompress and I know Randy will be posting up a ton of pictures. Be watching for them.

What a weekend, can't wait for next year. We will be there. Just got to our hotel in San Antonio after a day at the Alamo and Riverwalk. Got to get up in 6 hours to catch our flight, so I'll post about the event after I get home. One thing I must say, Stouttrout must have some serious trust in me, I drove his Jeeps all day Saturday on some pretty rough stuff. I've never done anything like it before, and I had his 7 yr old daughter and 12 yr old niece in my jeep for part of the day. To top it off, that jeep had a standard transmission which makes it more difficult, and I haven't drove a stick for 12 yrs. His 7 yr old knew her stuff, and helped me out

As a Veteran of Desert Storm and tours in the current Iraq and Afghanistan, I've seen quite a bit. I'm touched by your dedication and devotion to my wounded brothers in arms. Thank You for what you've done, your support is greatly appreciated on many levels.

We're in Roswell, NM for the night. What an odd place.

I'm trying to get the pics processed and posted, but my old notebook and the slow internet isn't helping much. Yes, I'm whining. Get over it.

Saturday, the day of the event, is a day I will never forget, not that I would ever want to. All the volunteers were their and we were waiting for the soldiers and their family's to arrive. Finally we get the word that they almost their and we line up on the path they will take from the bus to the pavilion. They are here and has they get off the bus they are met by the honor guard and all of us clapping and cheering them on. The emotions that were going on cannot be described. There were very few dry eyes. I had to go find some Kleenex. In total their were four buses from two different forts. Each bus was greeted the same way. After the opening ceremony lunch was served. The soldiers and their family's were served first and only after they were served and seated was everyone else served. This was their day and they came first!!!

After lunch and a few other things all the jeeps lined up to take them and the families four wheeling/rock climbing. You should have seen the smiles on everyone's face. They had a blast!!! Some were covered in mud and from driving in the mud holes. You would drive past them and all you would see is the big smiles on their faces.

Everyone is back at the pavilion for dinner, again soldiers and families first! After dinner time for the drawings and awards. More about the awards from others. Then it was announced that the green ticket they received was a prize donated from the the good people from Bullion Stacker. You should have seen their faces when we can them the silver bars. When we hand them them the bars we shook their and hand and thanks them for their service. You should have seen their faces. They couldn't believe we were doing this for them. It brought tears to my eyes. These are the people who have put their lives on the line for us and here they were trying to thank us for giving them a token of our appreciation. You wanted to do more for them but didn't know want to do. I will not get on my soap box but.....

They so much appreciated everything everyone did for them that day. They had so much fun!! It was a day they didn't have to think about the pain. It was a day that was about THEM. Just writing this is bringing tears.

We plan on going back and I hope more of you all will join us. What we have seen cannot be fully described, it has to be seen. I tried not to be to long but I don't think I succeeded to well.

Thank you all for all you have done to make their day possible for them!!!!!

Wow, what an event. Our 5th Annual WFTW event was awesome due to all the volunteers, sponsors and military representatives/guest that arrived to help show our Wounded Warriors and their families some Texas Off-roading Hospitality. Many thanks to the BullionStacker members for all your hard work and donations this past year. You help make this possible for our well deserving heroes. Special thanks to David Yeager and his wife; Randy Ward and his wife; and Jim McDonnel for representing BullionStacker well. Randy and David it was a pleasure to meet you both and your spouses. We hope you had a great time. From the bottom of my heart and all the Texas off-roading community, a BIG "TEXAS THANK YOU" for all you and your members do. Hope to see more BullionStacker members at the next WFTW event to be held in May 2014. We are already beginning planning for our 6th Annual Event and are proud to have BullionStaker as our sponsor.
