BTC high on mtgox was 1242 today,, Who would have thought this would go that high? BTC/Gold parity.. We all could have bought BTC at 500 when this thread had started...

Would have been the easiest double.

I could have bought those stupid things at 25 bucks each. Who cares how fluffy bitcoins are... What matters is that you make a killing and get out before it has a hyperbolic crash.

If you can find one that fits our sidebar, I'll add it. But I haven't seen any free bitcoin tickers for websites.

I don't think it will be worth the trouble. I was just kidding around. Those Bcoins are just a fad, right?

I don't think its a fad at all.
If these 'coins' are uncrackable by thieves, govts, etc, then I think they will somehow stay a part of the future economy. unless they are upended by another new technology type currency.

I also just posted this over at SD...more I think about it, more I like it.....

""These new 'coins' will continue to pop up and when someone major steps in, you have to be there waiting. What happens if AmazonCoin wanted to be there tomorrow? Think a few people would want to own that ? How about GEcoin, StarbucksCoin, VirginCoin? Free advertising for a long long time.

Geez, I should somehow try and market that idea to companies :-)
They'd just be worried about either huge liability somehow, or the coins crashing in value and them somehow taking the blame. ""

I would love to own a few VirginCoins ! What a conversation starter at parties

They may be around for a while, but right now, these are for investment/speculation only. They are not a currency, simply because they are too volatile.

How does one price products or services in a currency that changes value so drastically day-to-day, or even intra-day. Then there is the problem of which source is used to determine that value, since Mt Gox says one thing, and some other site says something else.

I don't think this volatility was what was intended by whoever started this. But since they probably have enough bitcoins to cash out as millionaires now, they probably don't care anymore.

There are service organizations like BitPay that facilitate merchant transactions and will convert your btc as payment into any currency if you wish. Processing costs can be fractions of a fraction which is one of the greatest things. I see on their website under pricing they have a menu of choices. So they provide the forward pricing. And anyone who has btc understands that the value fluctuates with the market.

I read this article today http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-r ... -analysts/. Having Wedbush come out with a valuation gives more validation for me.
