I was able to login, but I had to deactivate my VPN first, which I don't normally have to do.

Ditch CoinBase and Use Gemini. Noobs use Coinbase, and it shows.

But be sure to request Gemini's "Active Trader" interface. The fees are way lower than the interface they give you when you sign up and you don't even need to be an active trader.

Do you want professional service? CoinBase has it's place, but it's time to step up after a few transactions.

Imagine for a minute that some celebrity like Taylor Swift invented a coin, ICO'd it with a supply of 1 million coins (with 50% of the supply held for the artist herself) to her fans on the open market, and gave her owners the following features: 1) anyone who owns 100 or more coins can download any T-Swift song on her website free, 2) anyone with 10,000 coins gets 10 x tickets to up to 5 concerts in the next 3 years, 3) anyone with 1 coin can vote (in proportion to their ownership) on the locations of her next tour, from a list of 400 cities worldwide - the top 75 cities will get a concert, 4) anyone with 20,000 coins gets a free backstage pass, etc, etc. And these coins are transferable too! The more popular the artist, the higher they go, and the more $$$ she makes as she releases her share of coin on the open market.

Why has this not happened yet? It is only a matter of time. This type of coin won't be based on tech or disruption, it will become a new business model that will be another way to value a person or entity.

I posted the above in April 2017 in the PIVX thread...

It looks like some high net worth entertainers are finally coming around to using crypto to monetize themselves. I knew it was only a matter of time. Of course, the NBA is trying to halt this "new and scary idea":

I was three years early on this, but the trend is continuing...now with music artists. Ja Rule is using an Ethereum based ERC-20 token Roll

https://www.coindesk.com/roll-social-money-startup-ja-rule-lil-b-basedgod-tokens?utm_source=newsletters&utm_medium=blockchainbites&utm_campaign=&clid=00Q1I00000KKaRhUAL

"The concept of social money allows artists to have birth-to-death control over their content, Roll CEO and co-founder Bradley Miles said in an interview with CoinDesk. Tokenizing access to personal work such as music or writing enables an artist to be paid in their own currency, letting them set the monetization rules. For fans, purchasing artist’s social money on Roll allows them to interact with an artistic community in a more familial way, Miles added."

This is going to be the future of artistic rights and social communities.

Bill Burr is one of my favorite comedians. He and Bert get enlightened on Bitcoin from the one and only Pomp! I watched the whole thing. It is not only informative for the bitcoin newbie, but funny and entertaining as well. Bitcoin is slowly going mainstream day by day, plodding along. Ignore the future of money at your own peril.
